WORKSHOP IV. Implementation of EU Waste Management Legislation in Slovakia

On 9 June 2026, Workshop No. 4 was held within the framework of the project Waste Wise: Enhancing Governance for Sustainable Waste Management, entitled "Implementation of EU Waste Management Legislation in Slovakia."

The workshop focused on the practical implementation of EU waste management legislation at the municipal level, including current legal obligations, waste collection systems, recycling targets, public awareness activities, and administrative requirements. Participants also discussed common waste management challenges and exchanged good practices and practical experiences from their municipalities.

The workshop was attended by 20 participants, primarily representatives of local public authorities, including mayors of neighbouring municipalities and representatives of the Local Action Group Požitavie–Širočina. The participants gained new knowledge and practical recommendations supporting the effective implementation of EU environmental legislation and sustainable waste management practices.
