Project Meeting – July 1–2, 2025

On July 1–2, 2025, a project meeting of the partners took place at the premises of COPE in Catania. This first in-person meeting significantly contributed to improved cooperation and more effective project planning. The face-to-face contact allowed the partners to get to know each other better, discuss project activities in detail, and establish a stronger foundation for the successful implementation of future project outputs.
The first day of the meeting was dedicated to presentations of the activities carried out by each partner since the beginning of the project, as well as to a detailed discussion on the current status of the output under Activity 1 – the comparative analysis. The afternoon session focused on comparing approaches and exchanging experiences between the partners.
The second day continued with the presentation of the Dissemination Plan (Activity 5) and a discussion on dissemination-related activities. Another key point on the agenda was the preparation of the Educational Workshop Plan (Activity 2), and the meeting concluded with administrative and financial matters.
The meeting in Catania was an important milestone in the project and contributed to effective planning, better coordination among partners, and the successful implementation of the next phases of the project.
Kick-off meeting of the Waste Wise project

On February 11, 2025, the kick-off online meeting of the partners for the Waste Wise: Enhancing Governance for Sustainable Waste Management project took place. The project is implemented under the Erasmus+ Small-scale Partnerships KA210 program (no. 2024-2-SK01-KA210-VET-00026094). It is coordinated by the Association of Agrarian and Environmental Lawyers, with Cooperazione Paesi Emergenti (COPE) as a project partner.
During the two-year of project implementation, the partners will carry out activities aimed at improving the training of employees in public authorities and companies involved in waste management. The educational activities will primarily focus on understanding European and national waste management legislation and its implementation at the national level. A key aspect of the project will be comparing approaches to waste management between Slovakia and Sicily, as well as exchanging experiences and proven practices among the partners.
The goal of the first project meeting was to provide a detailed introduction to the project and its activities, establish a timeline for implementing individual tasks, and assign responsibilities among the partners.
The partners are currently conducting a comparative analysis of waste management in Slovakia and Sicily, and the results will be used to plan further activities, particularly educational initiatives for more than 120 employees.
